Joining a Practice
Visiting ringers are very welcome at All Saints’ practices. Ringing normally ranges from Rounds and Calls to Surprise Major methods and simple Caters methods. Our practice runs from 19.30 to 21.15 Tuesday evenings. Several ringers move on to the Kings Head for refreshments after the ringing.
Anyone wanting to come along to learn to ring, or just to see what we do, is more than welcome. Feel free to turn up, or contact the tower captain before coming.
Visiting Bands
Bands should apply to the tower secretary for use of the bells. The Church does not have its own car park, however there is a public car park off of Bell Lane opposite the Church. The Church has a toilet, which is located in the main body of the Church at the back.
For navigation purposes, our postcode is: TN120AX and we are located at Grid Ref: TQ786429.
If you are on an outing and in need of refreshment, the Kings Head is conveniently located across the road and supplies a reasonably priced menu. There is also a small coffee shop called KIN Coffee, located around halfway down the hill to the north.
Simulator
Staplehurst has a ten-bell simulator. If any visiting bands wish to use this facility please contact the tower captain or steeple keeper to discuss this.
Along with this, the computer has the Computer Analysis of Striking software installed, which allows you to take a piece of ringing and analyse it to show any consistent striking or method errors. This software is freely available online so you can even take the striking files away to review later.
